Meet Kelsie!

I'm an energetic, happy, and outgoing wife, mama, teacher, and follower of Christ who loves laughing, being outside, and going on adventures. I'm a woman of several passions: teaching, working out, making a house a home, being thrifty, and traveling. Writing is one of my favorite ways to express myself, and hopefully you will get a little knowledge (or at least a few laughs) out of what I have to say. More than anything, I hope this can be a place where we can be intentional, and share honest conversation about my mission: to love others fiercely, learn new things fearlessly, and live life fully.

This is my husband and best friend, Aaron. He loves me more than I could ever deserve, despite my flaws. He is also a teacher, a musician, a trip planner, and an amazing cook. Not to mention, he does mechanic work on the side, is an Eagle Scout, and loves the Lord. He is kind-hearted and patient with me. People can't help but notice his smile, and he is the most joyful person I know. I got a good one! We met at our church when he was in 8th grade and I was a sophomore in High School. Seven years later, he talked me into going on a date with him, and the rest is history. (But, if you love a good story like I know I do, you should check it out here.) Let's just say, the Lord had us planned out long ago.

Aaron and I were married on June 15th, 2013. Marriage has been the most wonderful, humbling experience and I am blessed to share it with him. Every day I am learning more about myself and about the true meaning of forgiveness and grace. We are loving our newest journey of parenthood, even though it can be challenging! In the meantime, we've really enjoyed our freedom and love trying to travel as much as we can. I've got lots of travel tips to share, and I enjoy planning our adventures so much that I am an independent contractor with the fabulous, award-winning Cruise Holidays of Kansas City Travel Agency. I'm ready to book an adventure for you through CK Travel, so check it out and start packing now!

After a short stint finishing up my apartment lease for our first few months of marriage, the Hubby and I bought a house in August of 2013. It has been a blast decorating, painting, and making it ours. Decorating a home on a budget is another one of my passions, especially when it involves a fun outdoor space. Other than squirrels in the attic, we have been blessed with few homeowner problems. Owning a home can be hard work, but it's a lot of fun. (For some tips to save a little money while doing it, check out this post.)

I found out that I was pregnant on June 27th, 2016, and on February 23rd, 2017, we welcomed our first child, Eli Robert Kleinmeyer into the world, ten days early. Birthing him wasn't nearly as bad as I expected, and God was good to help me overcome my fears in both pregnancy and childbirth. Eli is the best gift, and we are so in love with him and his little personality.

In May of 2019, we found out we were pregnant with our second child, and on January 9th, 2020, we found out she was a girl! Addie Jo Kleinmeyer also came ten days early, and we adore her. Being a parent is the hardest, best job I've ever had. We are so blessed.

Another one of our passions and purposes is meeting the most amazing brides and grooms and loving on them through our wedding venue, The Brim. The story of how it all came to be is so crazy it doesn't even seem true, but it is. We are excited to see progress being made as the story of The Brim is being written. You can check it out at www.thebrimkc.com.

That's me in a nutshell! Thanks for stopping by the blog. I hope you find it helpful, encouraging, and entertaining. I look forward to sharing laughter, conversations, and moments with you. Have a wonderful day.

Currently,
Kelsie

  2. So glad to meet you Kelsie - and I'm happy you reached out to me this morning. YL was very impactful for our granddaughter in high school - she is now a freshman at Liberty University. I am going to link up here, that is, if you don't mind an elder joining you beautiful young women!
